Jeremy Mincey Meeting With Cowboys’ Brass Regarding Holdout

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Cowboys DE Jeremy Mincey, who is currently holding out for new contract, will meet with the Cowboys’ brass on Sunday.

Cowboys HC Jason Garrett recently told reporters that they’ve had some “back and forth” with Mincey, so there’s at least a chance they could increase the veteran’s salary to get him to report to training camp.

Mincey, 31, signed two-year contract worth just $3 million with the Cowboys back in March of last year. He stands to make a base salary of $1.5 million for the 2015 season, but it’s clear that he feels as though he’s vastly underpaid based on his performance.

In, 2014, Mincey appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 37 tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. ProFootballFocus has Mincey rated as the No. 17 overall defensive end in a 4-3 system last year.

We’ll have more regarding Mincey’s holdout and a new contract as the news is available.
