Jets Officially Add Phil Savage, Rex Hogan & Chad Alexander To Front Office

The New York Jets announced that they have officially hired Phil Savage, Rex Hogan, and Chad Alexander to new GM Joe Douglas‘ front office staff.

Other personnel moves from the Jets include:

  • Chris Nolan hired as a college scout
  • Greg Nejmeh promoted to director of pro personnel
  • Dan Zbojovsky promoted to director of personnel operations
  • Kevin Murphy promoted to assistant director of pro scouting

Savage, 54, got his start coaching as a graduate assistant at Alabama in 1987. His first NFL position was with the Cleveland Browns in 1993 as a scout.

In 1996, he became the director of college scouting for the Ravens. He remained in Baltimore until 2005 when he was named senior vice president/general manager for the Browns.

After being fired by the Browns in 2008, Savage joined the Eagles in 2010 as a consultant. He was named the executive director for the Senior Bowl in 2012 and served in that position through 2018.

Alexander joins the Jets’ staff as their new director of player personnel after being the Ravens’ assistant director or pro personnel last season.

As for Hogan, New York has officially hired him as their assistant GM after being the former Colts’ VP of player personnel.
