Jets Placing WRs Jeff Smith & Vyncint Smith On Injured Reserve

Manish Mehta reports that the Jets are placing WRs Jeff Smith and Vyncint Smith on injured reserve.

It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.

Smith, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Boston College last year. He later signed a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Jets.

However, Smith was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to their practice squad. New York eventually added him to their active roster in December.

In 2019, Smith appeared in one game for the Jets and caught a single pass for 12 yards receiving.
