Jets Worked Out Three Including WR Donte Moncrief

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets are planning to work out veteran WR Donte Moncrief

The Jets also brought in DeAndre Thompkins and Kyle Lauletta for tryouts on Wednesday.

Injuries have hit New York’s receiving corps hard so far during training camp so the team is looking for healthy reinforcements.

Moncrief recently worked out for the 49ers as he looks to get back into the league.

Moncrief, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.745 million contract before agreeing to a one-year, $9.6 million fully-guaranteed with the Jaguars in 2018.

Moncrief signed a two-year deal with the Steelers last March, but was waived during the season to protect the team’s projected compensatory pick for losing Le’Veon Bell in free agency. The Panthers later claimed him off of waivers before waiving him in December.

In 2019, Moncrief appeared in eight games for the Steelers and Panthers and caught four receptions for 18 yards (4.5 YPC) and no touchdowns.
