The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they’ve placed K Sergio Castillo on waivers.
Castillo missed three kicks on Sunday.
Castillo, 30, wound up going undrafted out of West Texas A&M back in 2014. He later signed on with the Falcons, but was waived after a few months.
It took several years, but Castillo returned to the NFL and signed on to the Jets’ practice squad this past October. New York added him to their active roster soon after.
In 2020, Castillo has appeared in six games for the Jets and converted 8 of 13 field goal attempts (61.5 percent) to go along with 6 of 7 extra point tries (85.7 percent).
