Jets Waive WR Chris Owusu, Promote QB Matt Simms To The Active Roster

The New York Jets placed WR Chris Owusu on waivers Saturday and promoted QB Matt Simms to their active roster, according to Aaron Wilson.

This could be see as a sign that QB Geno Smith will miss Sunday’s game against the Chiefs due to a shoulder injury.

Last year, Simms appeared in three games for the Jets and completed 51.6 percent of his passes for 156 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Over the course of four games this season. Owusu has caught three passes for 27 yards receiving and a touchdown.
