Jets WR Robby Anderson “Certain To Be Traded”

According to Jason La Canfora, sources say that Jets WR Robby Anderson is “certain to be traded” ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

La Canfora reports several teams are interested in upgrading their receiving corps, with the Saints, Eagles and Jaguars atop the list. While La Canfora notes the Saints aren’t interested in Anderson, the other two teams are among the candidates to deal for the young receiver.

La Canfora mentions the Eagles are watching the market for wide receivers closely, as they have been hurt by injuries at the position this year and need help, even though they have other needs on defense.

La Canfora adds the Jaguars have told other teams they intend to be buyers at the deadline, as they see an opening in the AFC South and are looking to upgrade their receiving corps to help their passing game.

The Raiders are another team that’s reportedly had interest in Anderson, who is unlikely to re-sign with New York given the money he could command on the open market.

Anderson, 26, signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in 2016. He played out his three-year rookie contract and re-signed to a one-year, $3.095 million deal as a restricted free agent.

Anderson is in line to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career next year.

In 2019, Anderson has appeared in six games and recorded 17 receptions for 266 yards receiving (15.6 YPC) and one touchdown.

We’ll have more regarding Anderson as the news is available.
