John Dorsey Serving As Consultant For Eagles, Could Be Hired Full-Time If He Doesn’t Get GM Job

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that former Chiefs and Browns GM John Dorsey has quietly been serving as a consultant for the Eagles this season.

John Dorsey

Philadelphia has lost some notable executives in the past year after Joe Douglas and Andrew Berry to GM jobs.

Dorsey has come up as a potential GM candidate for vacancies this offseason. However, Garafolo says it appears as though the odds are somewhat stacked against him getting a job.

Should Dorsey not land one of the available GM jobs, Garafolo mentions that he could stick with the Eagles in a full-time capacity.

One report mentioned that Dorsey is expected to interview for the Texans GM job, so that’s something to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

Dorsey, 60, was hired as the Chiefs GM back in 2013 and paired with HC Andy Reid. However, the Chiefs somewhat surprisingly fired Dorsey in 2017.

The Browns hired Dorsey as their GM going into the 2018 season, replacing Sashi Brown. But Dorsey was once again fired after just two seasons

During his time as a GM, Dorsey’s teams have a record of 56-43-1 (.560) and three playoff appearances.
