The Detroit Lions announced that they’ve re-signed TE Tim Wright to a contract on Monday.
Wright, 25, wound up signing on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers back in 2013. He spent a year in Tampa Bay before he was traded to the Patriots in a deal for G Logan Mankins.
The Patriots waived Wright a year later and was claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers.
Interestingly enough, the Buccaneers managed to trade Wright for a second time in August of last year for Lions K Kyle Brindza.
Last year, appeared in nine games for the Lions and caught nine passes for 77 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
