Lions Sign Veteran TE Kellen Davis

Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that the Lions are signing veteran TE Kellen Davis to a contract on Monday.

  • The Lions also cut S Jerome Couplin and signed WR Ifeayni Momah to their practice squad.

Detroit recently brought in Davis for a workout, so this doesn’t come as a huge surprise, especially when you consider that first-round pick TE Eric Ebron is dealing with a hamstring injury and was inactive last week along with Joseph Fauria.

Davis has found some interest in recent weeks from the Saints and Ravens, but neither signed him to a contract.

Davis, 28, signed on with the Seahawks last year, but he lasted until March before he was ultimately cut loose. He would later sign a deal with the Giants, however, Davis was among their roster cuts a few months ago.

Last year, Davis appeared in 15 games and caught three passes for 32 yards and a touchdown.
