The Detroit Lions announced Friday that they’ve placed CB Desmond Lawrence on waivers.
Lawrence, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1,670,000 contract with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina back in 2017. He was set to make a base salary of $465,000 for the 2017 season when the Lions waived him with an injury designation.
Lawrence wound up reverting to Detroit’s injured reserve list where he remained for the entire season.
During his four-year college career UNC, Lawrence recorded 175 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble and 25 pass defenses over the course of 42 games.
