Marcus Stroud Attempting An NFL Comeback

FOX Sports’ Alex Marvez reports that former Patriots DT Marcus Stroud is “considering” a possible return to the NFL this season.

Stroud, 33, has technically been in the NFL for 11 years, but he decided to have shoulder surgery following the 2010 season. After the surgery, however, his shoulder became infected which prevent him from being ready for the 2011 season and subsequently led to the Patriots to releasing him.

It seemed as if his football career may have been over after at that point, but Stroud is believed to be looking for a role as a rotating defensive lineman, which is pretty practical on his part. Marvez believes that he’s better suited in 4-3 defense.
