Mark Sanchez Retires, Hired By ESPN

According to Andrew Marchand of the NY Post, QB Mark Sanchez has retired from the NFL to take a college football analyst position with ESPN.

Sanchez, 32, was the No. 5 overall pick of the Jets back in 2009. He spent five years in New York before signing on with the Eagles in 2014 after the Jets cut him loose.

Sanchez later returned to Philadelphia on a two-year contract before being traded to the Broncos in return for a 2017 conditional pick that wasn’t exercised.

The Cowboys elected to sign Sanchez to a contract for the 2016 season and after one year in Dallas, he signed a one-year contract with the Bears in 2017. He served a four-game suspension to open the season.

In 2018, Sanchez signed with the Redskins midway through the season following injuries. He appeared in two games and did not throw a touchdown.

For his career, Sanchez completed 56.7 percent of his passes for 15,357 yards, 86 touchdowns to 89 interceptions in 79 games. He also ran the ball 170 times for 457 yards and 13 touchdowns.
