Mike Jenkins Activated from The PUP List

Cowboys DB Mike Jenkins can resume practicing as early as Saturday after he passed his physical and was activated from the physically unable to perform list. The Cowboys still haven’t announced whether or not if Jenkins, who was recovering from right shoulder surgery, will play in the team’s season opener.

“It would seem unlikely Jenkins would play in the season opener against the Giants on Sept. 5, considering he has done nothing football-wise since the 2011 season ended. But the Cowboys have not ruled him out of the first game,” writes Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Like Williams wrote, it seems very unlikely that Jenkins will play against the Giants next week with only a couple practices under his belt. By signing Brandon Carr this offseason and drafting rookie Morris Claiborne, don’t expect the Cowboys to rush Jenkins back immediately.
