“Mutual Interest” Exists Between Browns & TE Rob Housler

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that “mutual interest” exists between the Browns and free agent TE Rob Housler.

According to Fowler, the Browns have had internal discussions about potentially signing Housler. Although, nothing is imminent at this point in time and the two parties have yet to schedule a visit.

Housler previously visited with the Falcons a few weeks ago, but Atlanta ultimately elected to sign tight ends Tony Moeaki and Jacob Tamme to contracts.

Housler, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals who played out his rookie contract with the team.

Many expected him to be a break out player in recent years, but Bruce Arians has never utilized the tight end position all that much in his offense, which could be one of the reason why his production was limited last year.

In 2014, Housler appeared in 15 games and caught nine passes for 129 yards receiving for the Cardinals. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 48 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.
