Dolphins
According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins’ coaching staff seems to view QB Ryan Tannehill has more of a “game manager” than an elite quarterback.
In fact, Dolphins interim HC Dan Campbell explained as much to Salguero a few weeks ago.
“What I’ve told Ryan is, ‘I don’t need Superman.’ … I just want to make sure my message to him is don’t try to be someone you’re not,” Campbell said. “Just manage the game for us. Make the throws that are there, which he will.”
However, this apparently differs with from the view of the front office, who are reportedly convinced Tannehill has franchise-quarterback skills and can be a top-10 quarterback when all is said and done.
Jets
Jets DE Sheldon Richardson believes he has a strong enough to case to prevent him from being suspension once his arrest from this past summer is settled in court.
“I’m pretty sure I’ll have a strong case for not getting suspended,” Richardson said, via the New York Daily News. “If a fine comes with it… I’m willing to accept anything, really. But, most definitely, as far as missing games, I really don’t want to do that.”
Regarding whether he and DE Muhammad Wilkerson will both have their contracts addressed during the offseason, Richardson said he understands the situation no matter how it plays out.
“We both understand the situation,” Richardson said. “It’s his hometown. If he gets it and I don’t — I got one more year left. You never know what happens after that. I wouldn’t mind him staying in his own hometown. If I get the boot, then so (be it)… but you never know. Mo’s having a Pro Bowl season right now. His resume is going to be a little bit cleaner than mine.”
