NFC East Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins

Cowboys

Cowboys OC Kellen Moore said Dak Prescott is “running the show” now that he is entering his fourth year in the NFL.

Being his fourth year and his third full offseason here, in so many ways, he knows it. He’s out there just running the show,” said Moore, via Jon Machota

Prescott said he feels the most “confident and comfortable” as he’s ever been with Moore at offensive coordinator.

We talk often about things we like, where this offense is going. It’s great. I can say right now, I’m probably as confident and comfortable as I’ve been,” said Prescott, via Machota

  • Clarence Hill mentions that the Cowboys could approach veteran WR Allen Hurns regarding a pay cut at some point this offseason.

Eagles

Eagles WR Nelson Agholor says he wasn’t worried about the trade rumors that surfaced about him this offseason.

“You have to think about it — what am I worried about? Am I worried about having a job in this league? Not at all,” Agholor said, via Zach Berman of Philly.com. “But I want to be an Eagle, and I’m here. At the end of the day, that’s for them to control and me to say, ‘Hey, look, I’m ready to play football for the Eagles, and I’m ready to play football in general.’”

Agholor expects to play everywhere this season.

“I like playing the slot because it gives me an advantage, use my speed versus some guys and use my size versus some guys, and I’ve learned a lot playing in there,” Agholor said. “But I’ve played a lot of outside receiver in my life. I know how to win on the outside, too, on ‘go’ balls, ‘post’ balls, things like that. And at the end of the day, I do whatever I need to do to help this team win. And I think my versatility puts us in a good position.”

Redskins

  • While there has been some speculation about the Redskins releasing CB Josh Norman with a post-June 1 designation, JP Finlay reports that there doesn’t appear to be any such move on the horizon involving Norman.
  • Washington could pick up $11.5 million of cap space and take on $3 million of dead money in 2019 and 2020 by releasing Norman after June 1. However, one team official tells Finlay that there have been no discussions about making such a move.
  • Finlay mentions that the Redskins could look for upgrades at inside linebacker, edge rusher and free safety, depending who becomes available.
