NFC East Notes: Eagles, Giants, Redskins

Eagles

  • Jimmy Kempski of the Philly Voice thinks the Eagles will bite the bullet and release WR Alshon Jeffery this offseason.
  • Kempski also believes the Eagles will target cornerback as a major target in free agency, while also adding multiple receivers to bolster the offense.
  • Kempski writes the Eagles see OL Isaac Seumalo as a potential eventual successor to starting C Jason Kelce

Giants

  • Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News says Titans CB Logan Ryan makes sense as a free agent fit for the Giants because of his shared New England Patriots roots with new Giants HC Joe Judge
  • Leonard also mentions to keep an eye on Auburn DT Derrick Brown given Giants GM Dave Gettleman‘s proclivity for defensive linemen.
  • Giants strength and conditioning coach Aaron Wellman is leaving the team for the same job at the University of Indiana.
  • Dan Duggan mentions that strength coaches tend to be more valued at the college level and compensated accordingly. Duggan has heard that Wellman will make “significantly more” than the $400,000 per year Indiana was paying their last strength coach.

Redskins

  • Redskins HC Ron Rivera made it clear that they want to re-sign guards Brandon Scherff and Ereck Flowers this offseason.
  • Regarding Flowers, JP Finlay writes that he may be looking to at least double his 2019 salary of $3.25 million this offseason.
  • Depending on whether or not the Redskins franchise Scherff, Finlay mentions that Washington could end up allocating around $23 million per year to the two guards.
