Cowboys
Cowboys WR Amari Cooper said he’s more focused on getting ready for the 2019 season than contract talks, but adds his agent is keeping him updated.
โMy agent has probably talked to me three or four times about where we are in the process,โ Cooper said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. โI really donโt think about it much. I feel like we have time. โฆ I feel like theyโre active about it and they want to get it done.โ
Giants
- A veteran personnel man who knows Dave Gettleman tells Peter King: โDave wants a pass-rusher in the worst way. He wonโt reach for one, but heโll get one with one his first three picks.โ
-
Jason La Canfora is buying the talk that the Giants will take a defensive player at No. 6 and they grab a quarterback later on.
-
Todd McShay has heard that the Giants are in the mix for Cardinals QB Josh Rosen, which may explain the buzz about them grabbing a defense at No. 6 overall.
-
McShay is hearing that Giants GM Dave Gettleman is “pass-rusher crazed” and lists Ed Oliver or Christian Wilkins as two “real possibilities.“
- According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, LSU LB Devin White and Houston DT Ed Oliver are the top two candidates for the Giants at No. 6 overall.
- Missouri QB Drew Lock and Duke QB Daniel Jones are the Giants’ top two candidates for the No. 17 pick, per Raanan.
- Clemson DE Clelin Ferrell, Florida State DE Brian Burns and Clemson DT Dexter Lawrence are also options if Gettleman can’t resist adding another defensive lineman.
Redskins
-
Jason La Canfora reports that the Redskins “love” Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins and he continues to hear that a trade up with the Jets to No. 3 overall is “hardly out of the question.” La Canfora adds that he sees “Haskins in Washington, one way or the other.“
-
Todd McShay has also heard rumblings that Washington is most interested in Haskins. However, he has also heard Drew Lock thrown out there. McShay believes the Redskins are a team to watch to trade up for a quarterback.
-
The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec reports the Redskins have shown “considerable interest” in Maryland S Darnell Savage.
-
Doug Williams, the Redskins senior VP of player personnel, said the trade for QB Case Keenum wouldn’t prevent adding another passer: โWe were able to trade for Case but that does not put us out of the realm of picking a quarterback if there is one there that we like at 15.โ (Adam Schefter)
-
Williams added the team needs a “go-to guy” at wide receiver. (J.P. Finlay)
