NFC Notes: Buccaneers, Packers, Redskins, Saints

Buccaneers

Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter said he expects QB Jameis Winston to practice on Friday and take all of the team’s snaps with the first-team unit.

“We made a decision to hold him for another day, but I full expect that Jameis will take all the snaps tomorrow, all the snaps with the ones,’’ Koetter said, via FootballInsiders.com. “You can draw your own conclusions.’’

Packers

  • Packers QB Aaron Rodgers announced via his Instagram Thursday night that he underwent successful surgery to repair a broken collarbone.
  • Rodgers captioned the post: “Surgery went well. Thanks for all the love, support, thoughts and prayers. #comebackstartsnow #riseagain

Redskins

  • Redskins HC Jay Gruden said there’s “absolutely” a chance rookie DE Jonathan Allen returns from the injured reserve list later on in the season. (John Keim)
  • Gruden added that the prognosis changed after Allen’s surgery and they don’t think his recovery will be “as lengthy” as previously thought.
  • Redskins DB DeAngelo Hall (PUP) officially returned to practice on Thursday, which opens a three-week window of time for Washington to add him to their active roster.

Saints

  • Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Saints increased the pay of practice squad OL Cameron Tom to an active roster rate ($27,352 per week).
  • Yates adds that this could be a result of another team attempting to sign Tom away from the Saints.
