NFC Notes: Giants, Lions, Redskins, & Seahawks

Giants

Giants HC Tom Coughlin mentioned that WR Victor Cruz is will do more running this weekend with hopes of returning to practice next week.

“He’s improving and we’re hoping,” Coughlin said, via Omh Youngmisuk of ESPN.com. “He’s running. He’ll be running all weekend and we’re hoping that there’s nothing but straight-ahead positives in all his activities and we’ll see next week if we can get him on the practice field.”

Lions

  • The Lions ruled out TE Brandon Pettigrew for Sunday night’s game.
  • Albert Breer mentions that QB Matt Stafford will play suit up in Week 3 and put together a solid work of practice.

Redskins

Redskins HC Jay Gruden mentioned that they could be without OL Shawn Lauvao for “a little bit of time.”

“He had swelling this morning [and] some strength loss,” Gruden said, via CSN Washington. “I think he’s got a chance to miss a little bit of time.”

Seahawks

  • Seahawks HC Pete Carroll reiterated Friday that they plan for S Kam Chancellor to play on Sunday after he had great week of practice. (Bob Condotta)
  • According to Carroll, RB Marshawn Lynch is battling calf issue that he sustained during last week’s game. Carroll added that Lynch will be a game-time decision. (Bob Condotta)
