Cowboys
Cowboys OT Tyler Guyton enters the third year of his career after being a first-round pick in 2024. Guyton said he’s keeping the same approach this offseason of just improving a little every day.
“I mean, it’s the same as every day: coming to work and getting better, to try and get one percent better every day,” Guyton said, via Patrik Walker of the team’s site.
Guyton’s goal is to be more “technically sound” and have a better understanding of their system.
“I [want to get] more technically sound, more confident in the playbook and the scheme and, overall, just a better player,” Guyton said. “It’s a process, of course, and we have to take it day by day, one foot in front of the other. But, at the end of the day, I’m trying to get to a certain point where I feel good about going to the season.”
Guyton admitted that he’s still far from a finished product but feels like the game is slowing down for him.
“I’m not all the way where I want to be yet, and that’s what camp is for,” Guyton said. “I’m still trying to get better every single day, but it [definitely] feels like I’m going into my third year in the NFL. Things are slowing down for me and I’m learning more every day.”
Giants
Giants WR Darius Slayton said he played through a sports hernia throughout the 2025 season before undergoing surgery after offseason rehabilitation failed.
“I pretty much started with it last season and just kind of played that way throughout the whole season,” Slayton said, via Giants Wire. “Just because I wasn’t going to just cut the season short with the surgery or anything. I got through last year and then I tried to kind of rehab it in the offseason and it just didn’t really work. So, I just went ahead and got the procedure done.”
Slayton acknowledged the injury affected his ability to make plays but said he does not want to use it as an excuse for his performance.
“A good bit,” he said of its impact. “I’m not a big excuse person. So, at the end of the day, I could have played better regardless, but obviously it’s different when maybe you’re used to being able to catch the ball a little easier. You’re having to strain a little more and maybe come up an inch short here or there. But at the end of the day, if you’re out there, you’ve got to make it happen.”
Slayton said his primary goal entering the new season is regaining the movement and speed he had before the injury.
“First and foremost is getting healthy,” he said. “I need to be able to run; I need to be able to move how I’m accustomed to being able to move. Honestly, once that’s all done, I believe I’ll play to a level that I need to play at.”
Giants
Giants OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux said he is relying on discipline rather than searching for additional motivation as he enters a contract year.
“I honestly don’t think there are no more layers of motivation to be added. I think when you play in this league, when motivation kind of seeps out or when you have the most of it, you just got to kind of lean back on your discipline,” he said, via Giants Wire.
Thibodeaux said he remains happy with the Giants and is focused on the opportunity ahead rather than the team’s past struggles.
“I’m happy to be here,” he said. “I mean, obviously we didn’t win that much in the beginning, but no one really thinks about the years before. It’s all about the opportunity we’ve got in front of us.”
Thibodeaux said he still has significant room to improve entering the 2026 season.
“I think I got a lot of room to grow,” he added.
