NFC South Notes: Buccaneers, Falcons, Panthers, Saints

Buccaneers

  • University of San Diego QB Reid Sinnett has had video conferences with eight teams, including the Buccaneers. (Aaron Wilson)

Falcons

Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff discussed the recent reports of them possibly trading up in round one during an appearance on the Adam Schefter podcast.

“I have not had conversations with anyone, necessarily. I’ve had people call to say, ‘Hey, if you’re interested, we’re interested.’ That’s small right now. And it happens. And, yes, there was nothing at all concrete about calling up Dave Caldwell. I was using him as an example and Howie [Roseman] as an example because of two friends I have in this league,” said Dimitroff, via Vaughn McClure of ESPN

Panthers

Regarding the Panthers re-signing RB Christian McCaffrey to a four-year, $64 million extension, HC Matt Rhule said they view as more than just a running back.

Yeah…I don’t look at him as just a running back…we see him as a ‘weapon’,” said Rhule, via Jourdan Rodrigue.

  • Rhule added that the Panthers don’t plan on using McCaffery for “the entire game” and will implement him in “many different ways.” (Rodrigue)
  • Florida EDGE Jonathan Greenard had virtual pre-draft meetings with the Panthers. (Melo)
