NFL Notes: 49ers, Bengals, Chargers, & Titans

49ers

According to Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report, the San Francisco have expressed concerns about QB Colin Kaepernick‘s offseason workouts with former NFL QB Kurt Warner.

One of the concerns for San Francisco is that they weren’t able to be present for the workouts given that the CBA prevents them from working with their players during the offseason.

New HC Jim Tomsula reportedly wanted to send their QBs coach Steve Logan to Arizona to observe the workouts, but GM Trent Baalke decided to not take a chance of violating the CBA rules.

Bengals

Bengals HC Marvin Lewis told reporters on Tuesday that LB Vontaze Burfict has a “long ways to go” in his recovery from knee surgery.

“Vontaze will be in rehab all the way through the summer,” Lewis said, via Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “So he’s got a long ways to go. He had surgery in January. That’s a surgery that takes a bit. He’s trying to beat the odds and do it quicker, but he’s got a lot of work to do. It’s part of the injury.

Chargers

  • According to Acee, hasn’t been much talk between Rivers and the Chargers regarding a contract extension this month.

Titans

Titans second-round WR Dorial Green-Beckham re-aggravated a hamstring strain on Tuesday and could miss OTAs for the remainder of this week.

“He felt a little pull,” Whisenhunt said, via The Tennessean. “You walk that line of saying, `Okay, get back in there.’ But if you pull it, you lose him for all the OTAs. You don’t want him missing any more time because you want him in there. We pulled him (out of practice), but I think he’ll be alright.

  • Titans NT Sammie Lee Hill said that he’ll undergo an MRI after tweaking his knee during Tuesday’s OTA session. (John Glennon)
  • Whisenhunt mentioned that they’re hopeful Hill’s injury isn’t serious. (John Glennon)
