49ers

49ers GM Trent Baalke told Pro Football Talk (via Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee) on Thursday that they should have a better idea of veteran DL Justin Smith‘s plans for the 2015 season.

Baalke mentioned he expects to meet with Smith later this week and that “probably Friday I’ll have more of a feel” for where things stand regarding his future.

Bengals

• Bengals signed fifth-round tight end C.J. Uzomah to a four-year contract.

Eagles

• Eagles signed third-round pick ILB Jordan Hicks to a four-year contract.

Jaguars

• Jaguars sign seventh-round TE Ben Koyack to a four-year contract.

Patriots

• Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports writes that the “DeflateGate” saga is far from over and we’re likely in just the “second quarter” of what will likely be a long and drawn out process.
