NFL Notes: Browns, Cardinals, Chiefs, Colts, & Redskins



  • Jay Glazer reports that the Browns want want to evaluate the film from Sunday’s game before deciding on their starting quarterback for next week.
  • Glazer adds that although Cleveland had been “squarely behindBrian Hoyer, there is a “good chance” that this will change.
  • ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is hearing “plenty of criticism” regarding WR Josh Gordon‘s conditioning and how out of shape he is.



Jason La Canfora believes it’s time for the Chiefs to move on from QB Alex Smith.

The Chiefs passing “attack” is even more pathetic than Miami’s,” La Canfora writes. “I don’t care what they gave Alex Smith and why they did it, but this team will need a new quarterback in 2015.”



Earlier in the day, former Redskins LB London Fletcher said that Jim Haslett is “clueless as a defensive coordinator.”

After Sunday’s loss to the Rams, Haslett was asked what he thought about Fletcher’s comments.

Obviously he has an opinion and that’s his opinion,” Haslett said, per John Keim of “But I’m disappointed he would say something.
