NFL Notes: Cardinals, Chargers, Colts & Eagles

 

Cardinals

• QB Drew Stanton did not practice Wednesday. (Darren Urban)

Chargers

• RB Ryan Mathews, WR Keenan Allen and C Chris Watt all sat out practice on Wednesday. (Michael Gehlken)

Colts

• Head Coach Chuck Pagano said that he is hopeful WR T.Y. Hilton will play Sunday, but TE Dwayne Allen likely will not play. (via Terry McCormick)
• WR Reggie Wayne said that he will have surgery in the offseason to rectify his tricep injury. (Terry McCormick)

Eagles

• QB Mark Sanchez said that he would like to remain in Philadelphia next year, but he did not address whether he would be willing to do so as a backup. (via Ralph Vacchiano)
• Head Coach Chip Kelly had this to say about the quarterback position for next year:

“We’ll sit down and thoroughly evaluate everything,” Kelly said. “It’s no different than any other position. Tell us what we have available right now, we’ll talk a look at it, let’s detail it, let’s go through the film again, let’s put our heads together, let’s get everyone’s opinion on it and make valid decisions.” (via philly.com)

• Impending free agent OLB Trent Cole said he’s hoping to retire with the Eagles.

“I want to be here. I do. I certainly want to be here. I want to retire here,” Cole said, via Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com. “It’s a chance for me to be one of the first in Eagles history to be able to retire with just one team and also be one in the NFL to retire with one team. It’s a big accomplishment, but things change every year.”
