NFL Notes: Chargers, Eagles, Raiders, & Redskins



  • The Chargers announced they had a second interview with Panthers DC Sean McDermott on Saturday.
  • According to Michael Gehlken, Patriots DC Matt Patricia and Chiefs ST Dave Toub are among other coaches the Chargers will interview.


  • Tim McManus of ESPN could see Dolphins WR Kenny Stills being an ideal free agent acquisition for the Eagles since he is a young player that could be entering his prime.
  • McManus could see Philadelphia make some roster moves to increase their cap space from the $9.4 million that is currently available.


  • Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that QB Matt McGloin will be the Raiders’ backup quarterback on Saturday.
  • Caplan adds that the Raiders did not promote QB Garrett Gilbert to their active roster.
  • The Raiders declared that DE Mario Edwards Jr. is questionable for Saturday’s Wildcard game due to illness.


  • Jim Owczarski confirms that the Redskins were denied their request to interview Bengals DC Paul Guenther.
