NFL Notes: Chargers, Falcons, Jaguars, Ravens & Titans

Chargers

  • Adam Caplan reports that the Chargers signed veteran OL Matt Slauson to a two-year contract worth $3 million and includes $600,000 fully guaranteed.

Falcons

The Falcons are moving former first-round pick Vic Beasley to strong-side linebacker in 2016.

“It’s off to a great start,” said Beasley, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I just know that it’s a new position. I played a little bit of linebacker in college, but it’s different in the league. There are more responsibilities, but I’m off to a great start with it.”

Jaguars

  • Tom Pelissero reports that the Jaguars signed DE Bjoern Werner to a one-year, $755,000 deal, which includes no guaranteed money.
  • Werner did, however, receive an $80,000 signing bonus and can earn an additional $300,000 by reaching sack incentives.

Ravens

  • Adam Caplan reports that the Ravens signed CB Jerraud Powers to a one-year contract worth $1.75 million and includes $750,000 fully guaranteed.

Titans

Titans GM Jon Robinson said that second-year QB Marcus Mariota has been “as advertised” during the first month of the team’s offseason program.

He has command, and he has a nice presence to him out there,’’ Robinson said of Mariota, via TitansOnline.com. “All of the players really look to him. His skills, he has really good throwing talent. He is a mobile quarterback who is a fluid mover in the pocket, a fluid mover outside of the pocket. There is really, really good upside with him.”
