NFL Notes: Draft, Buccaneers, Raiders, Saints

Draft

  • LSU redshirt junior CB Jalen Collins will enter the 2015 NFL draft. (Jim Kleinpeter)
  • LSU DB Jalen Mills will return for another season. (Jim Kleinpeter)

Buccaneers

  • The Buccaneers will clinch the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 draft if they lose to the Saints Sunday. (Greg Auman)
  • No matter if they win or lose on Sunday, Tampa Bay will have a top-two pick. (Greg Auman)

Raiders

Raiders DB Charles Woodson said that he’s not sure if he’ll be back with the Raiders next year, but if does return, he’s hoping to have some of coaches back.

We’ve got to see if the team wants me back,” Woodson said, via Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area. “I think a part of it will be what happens coaching-wise. Marcus Robertson has been a big help to me this year, man. That’s one of the things that – depending on what happens with that guy, it would be hard to see me playing under another guy. I hope he’s back, because he’s done a tremendous job with myself, with the other guys in that room. Also, Joe Woods has done a tremendous job. Those guys we work with very closely.”

Saints

Jason Fitzgerald of OverTheCap.com has a great look at the Saints options this offseason when it comes to their 2015 cap situation.

Fitzgerald identifies DE Junior Galette as a potential restructure candidate, but does not think New Orleans should touch QB Drew Brees‘ contract, as there’s little relief to gain from reworking his contract.

As for potential cap casualties, Fitzgerald lists G Jahri Evans, LB Curtis Lofton, NT Brodrick Bunkley and possibly WR Marques Colston.
