Minicamp

  • Ian Rapoport, citing several NFL general managers and head coaches, reports that there’s not “a lot of desire” for an actual minicamp this spring.
  • Rapoport points out that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell mentioned in a memo that he would like players to return to their facilities “at some point before players depart for the summer.”
  • However, some teams feel there would be too much injury risk for players at potential minicamps this spring.

Rookie Signings

  • Albert Breer of SI reports that the inability of some players to receive a physical has prevented them from being signed or receiving any financial compensation at this point.
  • Breer adds that by the end of May 2019, 204 of 254 draft picks had signed at a rate of 80.3 percent, this included 20 of the 32 first-round picks.
  • By June 1st just 51 of the 255 2020 draft picks were signed at a rate of 20 percent. This includes only two first-round picks.
