NFL Notes: Percy Harvin, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Jaguars, & Jets

Percy Harvin

Ian Rapoport reports that even though the Jets acquired WR Brandon Marshall in a trade with the Bears Friday, it doesn’t mean that Percy Harvin won’t be back with the Jets next year.

“My understanding is (the acquisition of Marshall) does not directly affect Percy Harvin,” Rapoport reported said on Friday.

According to Rapoport, the fact that Harvin is a unique hybrid receiver/running back could help his chances of remaining with the Jets.

Buccaneers

• Rand Getlin reports that the Buccaneers are expected to make a run at signing S Chris Conte.

Cardinals

• The Cardinals will not tender contracts to restricted free agents QB Ryan Lindley and NT Alameda Ta’amu. (NFLTR)

Jaguars

• Ian Rapoport reports that the Jaguars will not tender restricted free agent FB Will Ta’ufo’ou a contract.
• According to Rapoport, the Jaguars are expected to have interest in FB Jerome Felton this offseason.

Jets

• Adam Caplan confirms that free agent CB Cary Williams is on his way to meet with the Jets before visiting with the Titans on Monday.
