NFL Notes: Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Eagles, & Vikings

Peyton Manning

Broncos QB Peyton Manning tells Peter King of MMQB.com that he still doesn’t have any feeling in his finger tips.

“I can’t feel anything in my fingertips,” Manning said Thursday. “It’s crazy. I’ve talked to a doctor recently who said, Don’t count on the feeling coming back. It was hard for me for about two years, because one doctor told me I could wake up any morning and it might come back. So you wake up every day thinking, Today’s the day! Then it’s not.

Reggie Wayne

  • Jason Cole reports that free agent WR Reggie Wayne is hoping to know whether the Patriots will sign him to a contract at some point this morning.

Eagles

Eagles coach Chip Kelly said RB Kenjon Barner is “making a huge case” for a roster spot.

He’s making a huge case,” Kelly said, via the Philadelphia Inquirer. “You go back-to-back weeks with a punt return for a touchdown. I think he made some good plays in the run game. . . . I think he’s putting himself in position. We talked about it last week and he’s continuing to do that.”

  • Eagles signed S Brandon Bishop.
