NFL Rumors: Titans Have Interest In Packers QB Matt Flynn?

Firstly, we would like to congratulate the Green Bay Packers and the fans for winning Super Bowl XLV. It’s amazing what Green Bay’s young team was able to accomplish this season despite a number of key losses that they suffered early into the season. On to the rumors.

Now that the Titans are ready to move from Vince Young, speculation on who will be the next quarterback will be a constant topic of discussion. The Nashville Tennessean’s Jim Wyatt writes that the Tennessee Titans may have interest in trading for Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn. Many believe that the Titans will seriously entertain the idea of trading for a veteran quarterback like Kyle Orton or Kevin Kolb but Flynn would come with a much lower asking price.

During his only NFL start, Flynn proved his effectiveness against the team that many believed to be the best team in the league at the time. Despite his strong performance, Flynn still has a very limited amount of experience  which should be a concern for teams that considering trading for him. The situation reminds me of Mark Brunell while he was backing up Brett Favre in Green Bay during the early nineties.

Teams will have to wait for a new CBA before they can start making trades but the idea is interesting.
