Nnamdi Asomugha Likely To Be Released In The Next Few Weeks?

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer writes that the CB Nnamdi Asomugha appears “more likely to be released than kept.”

The Eagles recently met with Asomugha’s agent at the Combine regarding a contract restructuring, but McLane believes it’s unlikely that this meeting will lead to anything substantial.

Asomugha, 31, received a five-year deal worth $60 million contract and includes $25 million guaranteed. He has a base salary of $15.5 million for the upcoming season, but $4 million of that figure is fully guaranteed. Philadelphia would take a cap hit if they were to release him.

This could end up being a very interesting situation to watch in the next few weeks.
