Norv Turner Won’t Be Back With Panthers In 2020

Jourdan Rodrigue reports that Norv Turner will not return to the Panthers as part of new HC Matt Rhule’s coaching staff.

Rodrigue says some wondered whether Turner would remain in Carolina in a consulting role, but it appears as though this won’t be the case.

Turner’s son, Scott, agreed to join Ron Rivera’s coaching staff in Washington, so it’s at least a possibility that Norv could be considered for a role with the Redskins.

Turner, 67, began his NFL coaching career back in 19185 with the Rams as their WRs coach. He has worked for several teams over the years including the Cowboys, Redskins, Chargers, Dolphins, Raiders, 49ers, and Browns before the Vikings hired him as their offensive coordinator back in 2014.

From there, Turner was hired by the Panthers as their offensive coordinator for the 2018 season.

In 2019, the Panthers ranked No. 19 in total yards, No. 20 in points scored, No. 14 in passing yards and No. 20 in rushing yards.
