Osi Umenyiora Open To Playing For The Jets?

Giants DE Osi Umenyiora recently mentioned during a radio interview with ESPN New York 98.7 that “now is probably time to move on.

On Thursday, Umenyiora told reporters that he would like to finish out his career with the Giants, but also discussed the possibility of joining the cross-town rival New York Jets.

“Rex Ryan, when I was coming out of college he was with Baltimore at the time and he came down to work me out at Troy, just me and him,” Umenyiora said, via ESPN New York. “We had a pretty good time out there so I’ve always enjoyed him as a coach and as a person. That might be a good fit.

Umenyiora, 31, saw his overall production dip in 2012 as he finished the season with just 6 sacks, which probably had something to do with the fact he was part of a rotation with Justin Tuck

Umenyiora believes he’s capable of being a start in the NFL, so it’s fair to assume that he consider all of his available options in the next few months.

We have Umenyiora listed as the No. 44 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
