Packers Re-Sign Veteran CB Davon House

The Green Bay Packers have re-signed CB Davon House to a one-year contract on Thursday, according to Tom Silverstein.

A few weeks ago, Rob Demovsky reported that the Packers had sown interest in re-signing House, even after agreeing to a two-year deal with Tramon Williams, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

The Packers clearly needed to bolster their depth at cornerback this offseason and it makes sense to sign House before the draft so that they can focus on not drafting for specific needs and can take the best available players.

House, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2011. He spent four years in Green Bay before signing a four-year, $24.5 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed with the Jaguars back in 2015.

Unfortunately, the Jaguars elected to cut House loose last year and he later returned to Green Bay on a one-year, $2.8 million contract.

In 2017, House appeared in 12 games for the Packers and recorded 44 tackles, one sack, an interception and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 98 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
