Panthers Have “Kicked The Tires” On CB Cary Williams, No Plans To Sign Him As Of Now

Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reported earlier in the day that the Panthers have “kicked the tires” on free agent CB Cary Williams in recent days.

However, Person adds that the Panthers currently have no plans to sign Williams to a contract at this point.

Carolina lost starting CB Bene Benwikere for the season on Sunday after he suffered a broken left leg.

Williams recently worked out for the Titans, but was signed to a contract following the workout.

Williams, 30, signed a three-year, $18 million contract that included a $3.5 million signing bonus with the Seahawks back in March, but he lasted less than a year with the team.

This season, Williams has appeared in 10 games and recorded 46 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and four pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding where Williams could be playing as the news is available.
