Panthers Place TE Chris Manhertz On IR, Promote OT Blaine Clausell

The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they’ve placed TE Chris Manhertz (high ankle sprain) on injured reserve and promoted OT Blaine Clausell to their active roster.

  • The Panthers also signed CB Lorenzo Doss to a futures deal.

Manhertz, 25, originally signed on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Canisius back in 2014. After one year in Buffalo, Manhertz signed on with the Saints during the preseason and later returned to New Orleans on a future/reserve contract last year.

The Saints waived him back in October and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Panthers.

In 2017, Manhertz appeared in all 16 games and caught two passes for 17 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
