Horton, 25, also signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out USC back in 2013. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.485 million rookie contract when the Panthers cut him a few months ago.
However, Carolina later re-signed him to a contract a week into October.
Horton was just reinstated after being suspended four games. Carolina had a roster exemption that was set to expire today for Horton.
This year, Horton has appeared in eight games and recorded seven tackles and a sack for the Panthers.
