According to the Boston Herald, the New England Patriots are in “no real rush” to re-sign DE Andre Carter.
They do mention that he has the best shot of their remaining free agents to return next season, but the fact that he’s currently rehabbing from a torn quad isn’t helping his chances of securing a new contract.
This is really an unfortunate situation for Carter as he put together an incredible season for the Patriots before going down with the injury. The fact that he’ll be 33 at the start of the 2012 season isn’t helping either, so it’s pretty safe to suggest that he’ll be forced to sign a one-year deal.
