Patriots Sign LB Trevor Reilly To Practice Squad, Release DB Alex Carter

The New England Patriots have signed LB Trevor Reilly to their practice squad on Thursday and released DB Alex Carter from the unit. The Patriots also placed G Cole Toner on the practice squad injured list.

The Patriots’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL James Ferentz (Exception)
  2. DL Geno Grissom (Exception)
  3. WR Cody Hollister
  4. DB David Jones
  5. DB Damarius Travis
  6. DE Angelo Blackson (Exception)
  7. CB Ryan Lewis
  8. DB Jomal Wiltz
  9. G Cole Toner (Injured)
  10. TE Will Tye
  11. LB Trevor Reilly

Reilly, 29, is a former seventh-round pick of the Jets back in 2014. He spent just over two years in New York before he was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason last year and cut loose a few days later.

The Patriots elected to sign Reilly to their practice squad last October but the Dolphins later signed him to their active roster.

Reilly has been on and off of the Dolphins’ practice squad this season.

In 2016, Reilly appeared in two games for the Dolphins and recorded two tackles.
