Patriots Worked Out Veteran DE LaMarr Houston

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots brought in free agent DE LaMarr Houston for a workout on Friday.

This is the second reported visit for Houston in the past week after he recently worked out for the Saints.

Houston, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. After four years in Oakland, the Bears signed Houston to a five-year, $35 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed.

The Bears placed Houston on injured reserve during the preseason and recently released him with an injury settlement.

It is worth mentioning that Houston landed on the team’s injured reserve in 2014 and 2016 with ACL injuries.

In 2016, Houston recorded four tackles and no sacks for the Bears over the course of two games.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
