Patriots Worked Out WR Brenton Bersin

According to Doug Kyed, the Patriots brought in free agent WR Brenton Bersin for a workout last week.

Kyed notes that Will Bendetson of The Sports Xchange first reported the visit.

This is the first reported interest in Bersin since the free agent market officially opened back in March.

Bersin, 28, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Wofford back in 2012. He has spent his entire NFL career with the Panthers, which has included multiple stints on their practice squad.

Bresin signed a one-year extension with Carolina last year but was released a few weeks into the regular season with an injury settlement before returning to the Panthers in November.

In 2017, Bersin appeared in eight games for the Panthers and caught eight passes for 128 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
