Patriots WR Brandon Lloyd Continues To Impress During OTAs

There was so much speculation that Brandon Lloyd would ultimately follow Josh McDaniels to New England that his signing really came with little surprise a few months ago.

Since then, Lloyd has lived up to the expectations and reportedly is “continuing to stick out” during the team’s OTAs, according to the Boston Herald.

Lloyd has “displayed a nice ability to extend to make the catch and reel in passes that don’t hit him right in the chest.”

There’s no question that the Patriots could use some additional help in the vertical passing game, and the fact that Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez can dominate the middle of the field, should really open things up for Tom Brady next season. They also have Wes Welker to play in the slot, so there’s so many options for this team that you really have to pick your poison when trying to defend them.

If Deion Branch was able to put up 702 yards receiver to go along with 5 touchdowns, there’s a pretty good chance that Lloyd could best both of those totals next season and possibly finish with over a 1000 yards and close to 10 touchdowns. No guarantees, but certainly plausible.
