Pittsburgh DL Aaron Donald Could Go As High As No. 6 Overall?

Tony Pauline’s sources have informed him that Pittsburgh DL Aaron Donald could be draft as high as No. 6 overall by the Falcons, depending on what happens in the first five picks.

According to Pauline, that in order for this scenario to play out the quarterback prospects would need to fall out of the top-five with the offensive tackle and pass rushing prospects coming off the board ahead of the Falcons.

Pauline mentions that the Giants, Bears and Cowboys are likely to consider Donald at their respective picks if he were to be available to them.

Some have wondered what the Falcons would do if guys like Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack, Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews were taken at the top of the draft. The Falcons could always go with other offensive tackle like Taylor Lewan who some teams reportedly like more than other offensive tackle prospects.

Then again, there has been speculation that Atlanta could be one of the teams looking to move up in this year’s draft.

For what it’s worth, we have the Falcons taking Jake Matthews at No. 6 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
