Raiders May Use Charles Woodson On Offense Thursday Night

Adam Caplan reports the Raiders have designed plays on offense for S Charles Woodson for tonight’s Thursday night’s game.

I don’t know if (he will),” Raiders offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said. “That’s been in discussions since we started the season.”

We may have something up our sleeve. It might be the right time to do it,” continued Musgrave, per Caplan.

Even HC Jack Del Rio offered that something may in the cards for tonight’s game, so it is definitely something worth keeping an eye on.

I would say we’ve taken the opportunity to consider the possibilities,” Del Rio said, via Joe McDonald of the San Jose Mercury News. “We’ll just leave it at that. Obviously, he’s a special guy.”

It is worth mentioning that Woodson has 27 receptions during his career.

Woodson, 39, announced his retirement earlier this week, making tonight’s game the final home appearance of his career in Oakland.

In 2015, Woodson has been selected to go to the Pro Bowl after accumulating 65 tackles, one sack, four interceptions, eight pass defenses, and one fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus ranks Woodson as the No. 19 overall safety.
