Raiders Release DE C.J. Wilson, Promote S Tevin McDonald

The Oakland Raiders promoted S Tevin McDonald from their practice squad, and released DE C.J. Wilson.

Wilson, 28, is a former seventh round pick of the Packers back in 2010. He spent four years in Green Bay before joining the Raiders as a free agent during March of last year.

Wilson was among their final roster cuts at the start of the season, but later returned to the Raiders on a two-year deal

In 2014, Wilson appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 23 tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 27 defensive end out of 59 qualifying players.

McDonald, 23, signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington shortly after this year’s draft.

This season, he has appeared in one game, but didn’t record a single statistic.
