Raiders Sign TE Erik Swoope To One-Year Deal

Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders signed TE Erik Swoope to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Earlier today, Ian Rapoport reported that the Raiders brought in Swoope for a workout, so they were clearly impressed enough to quickly get a deal done.

Swoope, 27, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of 2014. He was on and off of the Colts’ practice squad for the early part of his career before he made the 53-man roster last season.

The Colts brought Swoope back on an exclusive rights contracts for the 2017 and 2018 season. He had a brief stint with the Saints last year before returning to the Colts.

In 2018, Swoope has appeared in seven games for the Colts and caught eight passes for 87 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
